Workshop Ideas - To stir the creative juices

When you walk into the Burnie Coastal Art Group Gallery you will experience an explosion of color and a variety of texture and fluidity that will excite your senses and stir your artistic juices. The works represent a variety of styles and media that will be offered in workshops over the next six months. Suzanne Hennessy’s work represents a wide variety of mediums with an abundance of colorful happy paintings including ink and texture on canvas, lino and screen prints, collage, batik and fresco painting. Karen Coles work shows the subtlety and the control of the acrylic pouring technique. Acrylic pouring boasts a lot of quirky names such as Duch pour. Flip pour, Jiggle pour and lots more. Karen admits that works can start out in a controlled manner but can soon become uncontrolled. Paintings can be done on board or canvas and are sometimes covered with resin. Karen will be holding an acrylic pouring workshop on July 31st, A lead lighting workshop will be held by Tamzin Adams on the 7th and 14th of August. Visitors are sure to find a workshop to fill the winter months. Gallery hours are Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 3pm and weekends from 12 midday - 3pm exhibition will be open until mid July.
