Learn to paint water convincingly
Alison Thomas will teach a six-week course in painting water features in acrylic paint at the Burnie Coastal Art Group studio, commencing on Wednesday 3 September 2024.
Classes will run from 10am until 12.30 each Wednesday until 9 October. Class size will be limited to 10 students. Each class will include demonstrations by Alison, using acrylic paint on watercolour paper. This will be followed by students painting water features from photographs supplied by Alison.

Art Workshops Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden
The Burnie Coastal Art Group will run sketch events for people aged 16 and older on 6 July and 13 July at Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens from 1.30 to 3.30pm.
Some sketches will be selected for an exhibition at EVRG for a couple of weeks. $20 includes entry and sketch event. Refreshments can be purchased at EVRG.
Booking for the sketching event is essential to obtain one of 20 free sketching kits, and to register for free tutoring

Art in August will be held at the Burnie Coastal Art Galley 211 Mount Street from the 7th August until 29th August. The opening will be on Sunday 8th August at 2pm, all welcome
Burnie Coastal Art Group Members Exhibition
Burnie Coastal Art Gallery 211 Mount Street Burnie. The exhibition will be opened by Deputy Mayor Giovanna Simpson at 2pm on Sunday 8th May. Artworks will be on display until Sunday 6th June. Opening times are Saturday and Sunday 12-3pm and 10am-3pm Tuesdays and Thursday. Closed Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Recently nine BCAG members had the opportunity to have Giovanna as a model. It was a great day with some great works produced. Artists were asked to complete works to be shown at the members exhibition .
Art Classes for Children
Classes will be held at Studio 211 Mount Street on the third Sunday of each month from 10am until 11.30am for children aged 8 and up. Art Challenge Awards were held at the Burnie Coastal Art Gallery on Friday 1st of Novemeber. The competition was organised by the Burnie City Council. Forico sponsored some of these awards and these were handed out by Burnie Coastal Art Group President Suzanne Hennessy.
