TASART 2024 Conditons of entry

The artwork:

1. Each artist may enter a single artwork only, any medium any subject.

2. A 2D entry into TASART must be on canvas, paper or board. Photographic film on its own, unprotected tempera or wet work will not be accepted.

3. 3D entries will also be accepted (subject to size limit contact BCAG).

4. Artwork entered in TASART must be the original concept and artwork of the artist completed in 12 months before the closing date, and must not have been previously exhibited.

5. All entries must remain in the exhibition until the closing date.

6. Burnie Coastal Art Group Inc (BCAG) will collect a commission on 25% on all works sold.

7. BCAG reserves the right to use images of TASART entries for promotional purposes.

8. An artwork entered in a category of the competition where the artist price exceeds the price for that category will either be excluded from consideration for that prize, or the artist will only receive the amount in that category.

9. Artists may enter artworks which are not for sale, but these artworks will not be considered for any acquisitive award.

Judging:

1. Any disputes about the originality or time of creation of the artwork must be notified in writing to the judge within two weeks of the opening of the exhibition.

2. BCAG may exercise its discretion not to exhibit an entry that does not meet all conditions for exhibition, or for any other reason.

3. The decision of the judge/s is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Entry procedures:

1. The entry fee is $50 and must be received by BCAG by the entry deadline into its bank account, named The Burnie Coastal Art Group Inc. BSB 633000 Account no 111 791 232. Please enter the reference ‘TASART your last name and initials’ for the payment.

2. BCAG will not insure the Artworks Entered. Artists enter the competition at their own risk and may wish to take out their own insurance to cover their entry. BCAG will take all care in exhibiting the artworks in their care, but will not accept liability for any loss or damage to the artwork in transit or at the gallery.

3. Where an artist uses the postal service, a courier or carrier to deliver the artwork to Burnie, the artist must pay for and arrange a pick-up time for collection of the artwork by the courier, and provide BCAG with the vouchers for return of the artwork. If the artwork is sold, the vouchers will be returned to the artist.

4. If a work is not collected within a month of the end of the exhibition, it becomes the property of BCAG, to deal with as it wishes. Artists who are unable to collect their artwork should make alternative arrangements with BCAG,

Exhibition Requirements:

1. A 2D artwork must have D- rings nom 1/4 - 1/3 from the top of the artwork with a wire that is at least 8cm below the top of the artwork and it must be framed. A battened canvas is considered to be a framed.

2. The maximum dimension of the 2D work is to be no more than 1900mm for the sum of the breadth and height (or in other words the perimeter cannot exceed 3800mm) and must not exceed 10kg in weight.

3. Paintings must be dry when delivered to BCAG.

4. A copy of the Artist’s entry form must be attached to the back (bottom right) of the artwork.
